Broadband with no contract

Previously most broadband deals are provided with contract. You woule be tied to a contract with the broadband isp for a certain period - usually 12 months or 18 months - to get the broadband service. If you want to disconnect the broadband within the contract period, you will be charged for your breach of contract.  Or you have to pay for the rest contract term to disconnect.

To some people, tied to a contract of 12 months or even 18 months won't worry them. But to those like students or some people who often move from one place to another, they can't ensure they can stay in one place for over 12 months.

Part of the broadband ISPs have got what customers are thinking and offering no contract broadband deals. Such ISPs include Eclipse,  NamesCo and also Plusnet, which is a well reputed provider.

Actually what we called no contract broadband deal does have contract. Usually the contract is a one month rolling contract. You can disconnect at any time, and the contract will terminate at the end of that contract month.

Usually you can't get some promotional offer like free connection or free wireless modem with such "no contract broadband". Some providers do offer free connection or free modem even if you commit such one-month contract. But if you disconnect within a certain period (usually 12 months), but you have to pay for the connection fee and modem fee when you leave. So, if you wish to get those broadband, read their terms and conditions carefully.

One thing to remember, if you don't like to go on with your broadband provider, send your request for disconnection in advance. Because the contract may last to the end of your contract month.
